Shearwater Insurance was established by Jeremy Lawton in 1992

The Shearwater name is widely recognised in the equestrian industry, not only for their broking expertise and excellent customer service but through their ongoing support to the sport. The importance of giving back to the industry has been recognised and embraced in a number of ways – particularly by the successful partnership of Leslie Law and the two well known greys, Shear H20 and Shear L’Eau.

Shearwater was originally set up in 1992 by Jeremy Lawton, who, after 20 years of working in the financial market in the city, wanted to combine his technical expertise with his passion for horses.

Jeremy’s focus on providing a truly individual and tailored service was a key ingredient to the initial success of the company in the equestrian insurance sector. Having established itself as a major player in this area, the company expanded to include additional services to the portfolio in 1997. By offering motor, household and commercial insurance Shearwater is able to offer customers a complete “One stop broking service”.
