“I’ve been involved with horses from a very early age and always knew that they would become more than just a passion, they would become my life.”
“I had the best start possible, by becoming an active member of my local Pony Club. I didn’t always have the easiest of ponies and certainly had my fair share of “dumpings!”. I competed in PC teams including and up to National Championships before moving on to my first horse.”
“Country Bumpkin (Bump) was just 4 when we bought him and I produced him myself. He was quirky but still, to this day the love of my life! We went through the ranks from PC eventing up to Advanced and had success at CCI2* and CIC2*. This on a horse that was held together with superglue and really didn’t have much talent, but when you have limited funds, you have to do what you can, and that is still the case today.”
“Knowing that eventing was the direction I wanted to take, I worked full time from the age of 16 learning from my time with Tiny Clapham and Andrew Fletcher producing and competing quality young horses across all disciplines.”
“During this time, my highlight must have been producing and competing showjumper PLS Halo Diamond to Foxhunter. A tricky horse and one, to this day, can’t be ridden by many. I think that is where I started getting a reputation of getting the best out of tricky horses.”
“Now I rent my own yard outside Grantham in Lincolnshire where I have access to fantastic facilities and a string of young hopefuls. I do have limited financial resources which makes this sport so much harder to get ahead. I am therefore so grateful to my owners and supporters who enable me to make the world of Eventing my life.”
